We left the Exumas on 4/6 and sailed to Turks and Caicos (Joanne's
favorite island in the world, so far). It took us 2 days to sail,
stopping for a short layover at Mayaguana due to high winds. We arrived
at Turks and Caicos at 9am on 4/8 only to be told we would have to
anchor in Seller Cut until they dredged the entrance to the marina due
to sand buildup. Finally after many delays we went into Turlle Cove marina at
high tide since the dredging wasn't happening. We made it and are planning to be here for a couple of weeks at least due to some engine issues.
We are right next to Grace Beach which is a awesome 12 mile sandy beach that is park of the Alexandra National Park and is spectacular. There is also the Green Bean Coffee shop on the way to the beach so we get to walk that incredible beach every day, HEAVEN!!
We had a boat moored next to us from Fort Worth, Texas and Bob invited us to play golf with him at the Provo Golf coarse here on Turks and Caicos. What a beautiful coarse as you can see below:
4/28 Still in Turks and Caicos... Got our engine issue fixed so we can leave any time. But we're flying home for Mom's 102nd birthday then back to Turks and Caicos and we'll head south as soon as weather permits.
We took a ferry to North/Middle Caicos this week. Very quiet and very remote islands, only way to get there is the ferry. Middle Caicos has one of the most beautiful beaches we've ever seen, Mudjin Beach and a lovely resort "Blue Horzion" but not much else on these islands.
