Isle au Haut

Sailed thru the Maine fog (1/4 mile visibility) to get to Isle au Haut Thorofare which is a lovely little lobster fishing village. They have rental mooring buoys that you can tie up to with a coke bottle tied to the buoy that says $20 per day. There is already $60 in the bottle, very trusting people. No cellphone service but we do have WiFi with our new long range WiFi antenna. Isle au Haut is approximately six miles long and two miles wide. A section of Acadia National Park covers about half of the island. The town's year-round population of 65 grows to several hundred in the summer season. Black Dinah Café and Choclatiers is located here, who would have thought the best chocolates ever are sold on Isle au Haut. Plus incredible baked goods at their cafe.
