Martha's Vineyard/Block Island
Today we (with Diane & John) sailed to Maratha's Vineyard and arrived at the Black Dog Wharf Marina at the Vineyard around 4pm. We didn't get to sail today since the wind was always at our bow and we fought the current most of the way but the sun was shining so everyone enjoyed the day. We arrived to 25 knot winds but got tied up safely and enjoyed a quiet evening relaxing on the boat with some wine and food. Day 2 we took a bus tour around the island and got the lay of the land. Then on day 3 we took the island bus to go back to all the places we wanted to spend more time at.
Can't imagine this place when there are people everywhere, it was very quiet this time of the year. We spent our last night enjoying boiled lobster on the boat with some awesome shrimp. A good time was enjoyed by all despite the raining evenings. We left Martha's Vineyard on Sunday and headed back to East Greenwich due to expected bad weather on Monday. We sailed back thru Woods Hole so we could go thru Bizzards Bay which allowed us to go with the current. We had a awesome trip back with great weather all the way. Since we had to go back we all decided to take the ferry to Block Island on Monday. The sea's were exactly what Captain Bozo predicted 4-6 ft waves so it was a rocky trip and everyone was glad we were on the ferry instead of Bozo Cinq. Block Island is a awesome place, incredible beaches....great for beach walking.
