Port Washington/NY 9-2012

We did an all night sail from East Greenwich to Port Washington, NY, it was an easy sail after the first 6 hours of fighting the currentand 30 knot winds. We are staying at a great marina, Brewers Capri West who gave us a great deal to stay there. Port Washington is a lot cheaper and it's an easy 40 minute train ride into New York City. We took the train into New York on Tuesday and spend 3 days in the city. Gary and I both love the city. Besides all the walking and seeing the city we went to the 9/11 Memorial, wow what an awesome site. If you haven't been you should go next time you're in NY.  The picture below shows one of the 2 pools built where the old towers originally were.

We also went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. In all the years we've been to NY, neither of us had even been, it was awesome and we only saw a small piece of it. Now we'll have to go back and see more our next trip. We also got to meet our friends Jimmy and Sherry Barnes and spent some quality time with them, they came to the boat and then we meet them in NY for dinner. Friends are Priceless!
