Antigua

We arrived in English Harbor, Antigua on 6/18/14. English Harbour on the south-eastern coast an it is the site of a restored British colonial naval station called "Nelson's Dockyard" after Captain Horatio Nelson. Today English Harbour and the neighboring village of Falmouth are internationally famous as a yachting and sailing destination. Population of Antigua is 80,000. We rented a car and toured the island. We went to St John (capital), checked out Dickerson Bay and shopped at the Epicurean Store (Wow best store in the Caribbean).  Then went to Shirley Heights to see the view below:
Also went to Long Bay Beach (beautiful) and Devils Bridge where the area around the arch features several natural blowholes which shoot up water and spray powered by waves from the Atlantic Ocean. Millions of years of reef formation amount to this: The Devil's Bridge. The natural limestone arch located in eastern Antigua, near Indian Town, has sustained the crash of ocean waves for long enough to form its distinct shape today. At the meeting point of the Atlantic Ocean and Carribean Sea, this natural wonder left a huge an impression:
Then went to an awesome restaurant Cecilia's High Point Cafe in Dutchmans Bay, incredible location and incredible food.... a must when you're in Antigua (http://highpointantigua.com)
Tomorrow we head for Barbuda.....
