Iles Des Saintes

Arrived in Iles Des Saintes on 6/13/14 and anchored in Terre d'en Haut. We were here one other time in 2008 with our friend Sandy. Since then they have put in 90 mooring bouys to make it easier for yachts which is a big part of the islands economy. The island lives essentially on fishing and tourism. Terre d'en Haut the biggest island in the Saintes has a population 1838 as of 2006 census. Below is a picture of Terre d'en Haut harbor with Bozo Cinq (center bottom)
Rented a golf cart and toured the entire island. Visited Fort Napoleon and 6 of their beaches.
Below is Pompierre Beach.  Interestingly, this beach is the most sought-after by tourists. Coconut trees and white sand make it beautiful in a kitschy way.

This is a French island so the food and wine were awesome but most everyone speaks french and very little English. Our 2 favorite restaurants La Fringle & Ti Kaz la, both are awesome. We head for Antigua on 6/16 with a stop in north Guadeloupe for a night.
