Saint Kitts

Arrived in Basseterre, Saint Kitts and tied up to the Port Zante Marina...
Saint Kitts, also known more formally as Saint Christopher Island.  Saint Kitts and the neighboring island of Nevis constitute one country.  Saint Kitts is 18 miles long and has a population of around 35,000. Residents call themselves Kittitians. Did a tour of the island, lovely island. They have a great education system, kids are taught English, French and Spanish, 5 colleges on the island and they have Social Security but not Welfare.
Went to Caribelle Batik Garden, awesome, sitting right next to the rainforest. Monkeys were playing everywhere. They made some incredible Batik fabric in this beautiful setting.

Also went to the sugar factory which the government closed in 2005, due to losing money. Sugar is being replaced by substitutes. Then we went to the Amazing Grace church and saw a presentation on how the song "Amazing Grace" was  created. This was a real treat and very "amazing"
