Mustique

Arrived in Britannia Bay, Mustique today after a great sail, 10 hours and 71 nautical miles. Boats must use mooring buoys and there is a 3 day minimum, $200 EC's. Took a tour of the 2.2 sq mile island. Mustique is a small private island that is part of the Grenadines. It is run by the Mustique Company coop (which is the funded by the homeowners). The island has 150 inhabitants (islanders) and over 800 workers. In order to come to Mustique and live you must have a job. If you get caught breaking the law they send you off the island. There is one primary school that goes up to grade 6 and it has 35 students and 6 teachers. For secondary school the kids have to go to St Vincent. There are 92 homes owned by the rich and famous, most of which can be rented. There is no more land for sale so you'd have to buy an existing home and rebuild. Check out this website if you are interested in renting a place in Mustique, wow awesome homes: http://www.mustique-island.com/the-villa-collection/island-map.
Below is the village which is our view in the morning right on Lagoon Beach:
Below is one of the picnic shelters that are to be used by reservation only.

The taxi driver stopped and picked up a turtle on the road so it wouldn't be killed. Then we sent him on his way. That would never happen in the USA.

Basil's Bar is world famous and home of the only Caribbean Blue Festival, great bar and restaurant.
We loved Mustique!!!!!
